Newsletter – 5 February
General Opening Day
Congratulations to Belinda Walkyier & Lyell Collins on winning the Milne Trophy.
Unfortunately, the Twilight competition has not been supported to the expected level and as a consequence has been cancelled for the remainder of this summer.
To fill this gap, Tony Burgess will run a golf only “Twilight Haggle” ( no catering or bar facilities) from 4.30pm to 5.30pm for anyone interested.
2021 “Golfing” Programme
The 2021 can be viewed on the Club’s website or alternatively, for those members who like a Programme Book these will be issued upon payment of your 2021-2022 Subscription.
Subscriptions are due for payment by 20 March or if paying by instalment, arrangements must be made with the office. If paying your subscription in full, please remember to deduct the $25 instalment fee.
A demonstration on how to use the “Defibrillator” will take place in the Clubhouse next Tuesday, 9 February at 12.45pm to which all members are invited.
The session will be taken by Club member, Bernie Davies and should last approx. 30 minutes.
Supporting the Community
One of the Club’s goals is to increase our support of community projects and with most of us enjoying the odd wine or can of coke, the collection of “wine bottle tops & can tabs” could be a good fit. Doing a little for recycling whilst raising funds for a community based organization.
Lions throughout NZ have partnered with “Kidney Kids”, a not-for-profit organization that supports children, their families and whanau with kidney disease by providing them with resources, information, family support events, hospital visits and other assistance to have the best possible experiences.
We’re asking that you bring in “wine bottle tops (with plastic bit removed) and can tabs off coke, lemonade cans etc.”, place them in the bin located in the Clubhouse, which in turn we will pass onto the Lions.
