Newsletter – 23 June
Welcome to winter and finally we received rain, now it does not seem to know when it should stop.
Over the past 18 months, golf has seen a huge resurgence in participation with Rangiora experiencing a 45% increase in the number of rounds played. All sections of the Club have increased entries with the Wednesday men’s group showing the largest. Green fee and casual golf numbers are also showing a marked increase.
Please find below a few “housekeeping” matters which we would like to draw to your attention.
Generally, the course has soaked it up well, but has presented us with an extremely “slippery” surface and a number of incidents of members slipping over have been reported. Please be extremely careful on course.
It is customary on the course that “fore” is used to warn anyone that they are in the path of wayward golf ball. There have been some incidents when this practice has not been observed.
Thank you for observing the request to drive in the rough and ask that this practice continues to assist with the recovery of the course.
We would remind members that the Greens staff do have the “right of way” on the golf course and are very conscious of the events being played when planning their weekly schedule to have the least effect on members.
Members are asked to please report to the Starter Offices at least 15 minutes prior to you tee time.
Clubhouse Foyer Doors
To assist with the retention of heat within the Clubhouse, we request that these doors are keep closed as much as possible, especially once draws are completed and members have commenced play.
It has been observed that members are bringing their own food into the Clubhouse which is not permitted. If you do have special dietary requirements that are not catered for by Hine, please apply to the Management Committee for dispensation.
